How does the league work? The number of games? House & travel tryouts?

House League
- 10 games regular season played on Saturdays. Playoffs may be scheduled during the week or Sunday.


Boys or Girls (not coed) (if numbers are there we separate by grade)

  • "A" League - 7 & 8 Grades
  • "B" League - 5 & 6 Grades
  • "C" League - 3 & 4 Grades (Girls 9' Hoops, Boys 10' Hoops)
  • "D" League - 1 & 2 Grades (Girls 8' Hoops, Boys 9' Hoops)
  • "E" League - K & 1 Grades (8' Hoops & 5X5)

High school league (games are played on Sundays and midweek) (if numbers are there we separate by grade)

  •   "AA" League - 9 & 10 Boys
  • "AAA" League - 11 & 12 Boys
  •   "AA" League - 9 to 12 Girls

Based on enrollment. From time to time we may need to travel to play in an inter-league with another local league.

Most games played in the surrounding schools located in the 20164 zip code. HS leagues usually practice in the 20164 zip and play in the 20175 or 20170 zip code.
 



Travel League - 100% commitment and good academic standing is a requirement. Additional cost for Uniform. 10 games regular season played on Sundays. Playoffs may be in the middle of the week.  Practices are 2 times a week and additional team activities may be added during the week.


Boys

  • Varsity - 6th to 8th Grades
  • JV -        6th to 7th Grades
  • 6th -      6th grade only


Girls

  • Varsity - 6th to 8th Grades
  • JV -        6th to 7th Grades

This travel league is specifically for the excellent student-athlete that embraces the community and fellow peers representing Sterling Middle School. The advanced player will need to be able to handle the associated pressure and schedule.

 

Games are played in the middle schools throughout Loudoun County.



Practices

Practices usually start mid-November. Maybe sooner or later depending on when the county releases gyms.

All practices start at 6:30 pm or 8:00 pm Monday through Friday at the local elementary and middle school. Day of week and time will depend on the coach. Practices are 1.5 hours 1 day a week. 4th grade on down is scheduled at the 6:30 time.

Season

It starts the first week in December and must end by the second Saturday in March.

How do I get a refund?

The League will refund all monies paid when it does not or is unable to assign a player to a team. Registration fees will be refunded as follows when a player is voluntarily withdrawn from the League:
  • 100% minus $30.00 nonrefundable processing fee until posted date during registration in October.
  • No refunds after posted date during registration.
  • All requests for refunds must be in the form of an email to
